Chris Ajemian

Fusion Energy Chief Advisor

Chris Ajemian is an expert in the burgeoning fusion energy sector. He was co-founder of CTFusion, a fusion energy startup that spun out of the University of Washington. He provides business development, business modeling, technical assessment, capabilities matching, regulatory, and environmental strategy. His clients include fusion energy driver companies, national laboratories, trade associations, and federal and state governments.

Chris has 30 years of experience working with business, government, and non-profits. In addition to his eight years of fusion energy commercialization experience, he has practiced corporate law, worked with the U.S. Departments of State and Energy, and various clean energy ventures. He has built relationships with power utilities, venture funds, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Office of Fusion Energy Sciences, ARPAE, the IAEA, and the scientific and environmental communities. He founded and been a CEO for a software start-up, advised three U.S. presidential campaigns, and has been a journalist covering the White House and U.S. Congress. He started Seattle Fusion Week with the CleanTech Alliance and is assisting in the formation of several regional fusion commercialization hubs across the country including the Western Regional Fusion Commercialization hub, which currently encompasses the states of WA, CA, CO and NV.

His interests include leadership, fusion energy, corporate strategy, market development, plasma physics, nuclear engineering, nuclear nonproliferation, strategic planning, government, Asia, U.S. politics, foreign policy, and diplomacy. He works closely with Fusion Power Associates, the Cleantech Alliance of Washington and the Fusion Industry Association.
